Lewis River Falls: Easy-7 miles, 500' gain,1,800' peak altitude

Gifford Pinchot National Forest - Hike along the Lewis River, with incredible Douglas-firs and red-cedars to 10' in diameter and lots of trilliums and other spring flowers. The waterfalls are beautiful and massive. Bring binoculars and cameras. Leisurely pace.
Meet at 8:00 AM, back around 6:00 PM (Sunrise: 5:44 AM Sunset: 8:30 PM)

    Thanks for the great photos, folks! Besides the fabulous water, trees, and natural air conditioning, we saw 3 of the PNW's most often used medicinal plants in bloom: valerian, coltsfoot and black cohosh (the latter just coming into bloom). I also pointed out gooseberry in flower and mentioned its potential. I gave Ze'v some resources that I want to share with the rest of you.
