Sierra Club Columbia Group has a long standing partnership with Oregon Parks and Recreation for maintaining this 2.2 mile loop trail around a double water fall with commanding views of the Gorge. Come join us! All are welcome, including children when they bring their parent or legal guardian. Tools are supplied or bring your own work gloves, loppers, shovel &c, including, water and snack to suit. Work lasts 4 to 6 hours with volunteers frequently gathering for a late lunch at McMenamins' Edgefield.

The trail has been closed for the past 6 months for major rebuilding of the trailhead parking area as part of the ongoing Historic Columbia Highway Restoration program, "Milepost 2016," in anticipation of the "King of Roads" Centennial in 2016. Our work will consist of checking the whole trail, removing rocks and debris and checking that water bars and culverts are in good shape from winter rains.

Carpool at 8:15 am from south entrance to MAX Gateway Park & Ride parking structure located just east of I-205 at 1201 NE 99th Ave, 97220; between Halsey and Glisan. Or, meet at the trailhead at 9 am: I-84 east to exit #28, turn right ¼ mile at the triangle, then west 3 miles to the trailhead. No RSVP required.

Leader: Dave Bybee; [masked], (360) 993-4247.
