January

Thu 17, Third Thursday:  Future of Portland’s Water. Potluck at 6:30, program at 7 PM.

Portland’s Bull Run drinking water system is facing many challenges now and in the future. Increasing costs and changes in water quality are affecting the livability in Portland and the surrounding water utility customers. Residential and commercial customers continue question the changes proposed by elected officials for the years to come.

These drinking water issues will be reviewed by Scott Fernandez whose graduate work in drinking water chemistry and microbiology provided a basis for current and future community discussions. Scott was a mayor- appointed member of the Portland Water Quality Advisory Committee and the Portland Utility Review Board.

Pot luck starts at 6:30 PM, program at 7.  The Columbia Group will supply pizza.
