This group is for people who enjoy yoga, hiking mediation & good food. Simply put, we will be experiencing movement mediation with small groups in beautiful PNW natural settings and connecting over a meal. Anyone over 18 is welcome to join!
Summer has finally arrived and it’s time to kick off the 2019 Yoga, hiking, meditation Meetup season!
If you love yoga, nature, meditation, and communing over a yummy meal then a Mountain Motion Meditation event is for you!
We lead very busy, go, go, go lives and sometimes need a break to re-center. We rarely have the time or a safe space to truly connect with ourselves and others. Motion Meditation in nature grounds us allowing us to simply be, consequently enabling us to move through our everyday lives in a more relaxed meditative state.
Not everyone has the time or the money to spend an entire weekend at a retreat center, so I've devised several programs to help you refresh, rejuvenate and regain your balance in just 6-8 hours for under $100.
Nothing brings you back into alignment then movement meditation, fresh air, good company and a delicious meal you didn’t cook!
This season we will be incorporating several different event formats, such as meditative art, singles events, and other motion meditative practices, and a possible overnight camping trip so please stay tuned.
During a typical yoga day retreats you will experience a 1 hour all-level yoga class or other meditative practice, followed by a snack & drinks. We will then embark on a guided silent meditative hike in Mother Nature. Hikes are between ½ -5 miles in various natural settings around the beautiful state of Oregon with varying degrees of difficulty. Upon returning from our hike, we’ll enjoy a high quality healthy brunch.*
* All meals are tailored to the participants so if you have allergies or food sensitivities we will accommodate you.
The beauty of our day retreats is their intimacy with a limit of 10-12 participants. This allows participants the opportunity to truly connect with one another. Don’t worry if all the spots are taken for an event as there will be a waitlist. Likewise if there is enough interest in a particular event, additional dates may be offered.
Since creating this Meetup last year I’ve gone the extra mile and made things more official. The official name of my business is Mountain Motion Meditation LLC. I'm now a licensed Oregon outfitter guide fully insured, bonded and CPR certified.
I've been practicing yoga for 24 years and a certified teacher for 16. I hold a master’s degree in health and wellness specializing in complementary alternative medicine. Creating this Meetup and business helps me practice my life’s purpose… spreading health and wellness.
Events listed below will take place rain or shine on the dates posted unless otherwise stated. To register for these events you must join this Meetup. You are not fully registered for your event until it is paid for in full. Cancellations one (1) week before the event will receive a 75% refund. There are no refunds for cancellations less than 1 week before the event.
There is a five (5) person minimum for each event. Any event with less than five participants is subject to cancelation. If event is canceled by the event host there will be a 100% refund.
All events are for participants 18 years or older and no pets. Service animals with proper documentation are welcome.
All our event locations have been pre scouted and only include the most beautiful places within and 1 ½ hours from Portland. The exact location of each event is revealed only to those who have RSVP’d and paid in full, but descriptions will include pictures of each location.
We will typically meet at a designated place to carpool. I can personally take 2-3 people in my car. We strongly encourage carpooling to keep it green, plus some locations require a parking fee, which we will cover to those willing to carpool other participants. If you are riding with someone you are required to offer $5-$10. It’s a kind way to show your gratitude for being able to sit back, relax and enjoy the ride and beautiful Pacific Northwest vistas.
Each event will involve a hike with a variety of difficulties and lengths. The hikes are meditative, meaning we will be moving at a very slooooow pace, and usually stop approximately halfway through for a meditative practice.** We chose hikes the average person can do, and will not leave anyone behind. We’re in this together!
There will be HIKING NOTES for each event to include the difficulty level approximate time and any special needs or suggestions. Hike difficulties are rated from 1-5.
1: easy, flat & very short (less than 1 mile)
2: easy, some hills, short 1- 1 ½ miles,
3: moderate, some hills, 1 ½-2 miles.
4: moderate, hilly, 1 ½-2 ½ miles.
5: moderately difficult, very hilly, 2 ½ + miles.
** By RSVPing for any of the event posted on this meetup page you are acknowledging that you are physically fit to participate in the event. You are also acknowledging that you have read, understand, agree with and digitally signed the release form that has been sent to each member of this Meetup.
Because things are now 100% legit all participants will be required to sign a waiver form. The form will be given to you at an event you attend. You will only have to fill out once.
