What we're about

This group is for young widows and widowers (under 50) who would like to meet in a very supportive, informal environment with others who understand their experience with loss.
We normally schedule two casual dinners each month (east side/west side), where we can talk, listen, and offer support and understanding with others in similar circumstances. (The West side dinner is on hold until someone expresses interest in hosting.) We can also come together for other, more "fun" types of events whenever any of our members feels like planning something.

This is not a dating group. It is also not a structured grief/bereavement group and does not have a trained grief counselor. This group has been made private for the protection of our members.

Members of this group join at different points in their grief journey. People share information about themselves and their loved ones at a time they are emotionally vulnerable. Therefore, group members need to agree to follow some rules to ensure the group is a safe space for people to share.

1. Maintain confidentiality.

2. Respect others' privacy.

3. Be cautious of offering advice.

4. Share the time and space in the group.

5. Suspend judgment.
