Drinkercizing! This is a new term I coined while trying to get together with friends during my training for my 3 Day 60 Mile Walk For The Cure. They wanted to go to happy hour but I had to train so we compromised and combined the two! We will also take in the beautiful light displays on Peacock Lane!
Weather will be cold but so far looks dry.
Wear your good walking shoes, wicking clothes and your holiday bling, whether it be an ugly Christmas sweater or a snazzy bow tie and tuxedo shirt. Dress in layers including hats and scarves. Use your imagination but please attempt to wear something FUN & FESTIVE! Jingle bells, santa hats, etc. The CRAZIER the better!
Stop #1 East Burn at 1800 E. Burnside at 5:00 - This is for early birds who want to get a little extra walking/drinking in before we meet everyone at the next stop. We will be here for about 20 minutes and then head to our next stop. If you want to eat something here, arrive a bit early because we will depart at 5:20.
Stop #2 The Guild at 1101 E Burnside 5:30- 6:20- Bottom floor of the 4 story red building on Burnside and 11th on the east side of the river. This is a huge place with a nice happy hour menu and good food so we will spend 50 minutes so we can eat, drink and mingle. Ask the staff where Tamara's group is. We may be upstairs but not sure yet.
Stop #3 Dig a Pony at 736 SE Grand - We will be on the right when you walk in. I went here this weekend for the first time and LOVED it! The food is fabulous with a nice happy hour. From here we will walk up to Peacock Lane to see the Christmas lights! Every house on Peacock Lane is lit up and it is a great way to get into the Holiday spirit!
Distance for entire round trip walk - 4.5 miles
Distance from East Burn to Dig a Pony - 1.12 miles
Distance from The Guild to Peacock Lane - 2.5 miles
I use public transport all over town so I can help you get a bus back to your car if you would rather not walk that far. Join us at any of the stops. I will email out my cell number to everyone on the "yes" list the day of the event.
I am taking the bus from Cedar Hills near 217 and 26 so if anyone is driving and making it to the first stop, please let me know if you can pick me up.
