The WordUp Pompey meets monthly in Portsmouth, England. It is open to designers, developers, bloggers, content managers, communications people and anyone who deals with WordPress. Come along and meet some like minded souls and share in some learning and professional development.
In June 2018, we will be starting a series of events on accessibility and diversity. This month, we will focus on an introduction to the topic and common barriers.
Communications and Digital Professional Abha Thakor from @NonStopNewsUK will give an introduction to web accessibility. She will show how the web can present barriers to some users' experience and participation, give an insight into some of the tools available to help those with accessibility needs, highlight the work of the WordPress Accessibility team, and explore with attendees how they can learn more about making their sites more accessible.
Graham Armfield's presentation on accessibility tools will lead on from this at a future WordUp Pompey to be held on a new date later this year.
Let us know if you have any accessibility questions which we can explore as a group after the presentation.
