Odiorne Point State Park - Hike/Snowshoe, explore, and Discover the Seacoast

Odiorne Point State Park offers one of the most beautiful natural settings along New Hampshire's 18-mile coastline.

Come with us to hike the beautiful Odiorne Point trails and visit The Seacoast Center at Odiorne Point State Park. The state park is a great place to explore with its 350-acres of hiking trails through multiple habitats. The Seacoast Science Center will take us deeper into those habitats with a tide pool touch-tank. There are also interpretive exhibits, a 32-foot skeleton of a humpback whale, amazing views of the seashore, a rare blue lobster in their "Gulf of Maine" exhibit hall and much more. This will be an opportunity to enjoy learning things you never knew about the coastline and all of its creatures.
We will start by hiking parts of the extensive network of trails that wind through the dense vegetation as they traverse the park. There are spectacular views of the ocean and the rocky shore.

We'll stop for lunch after the hike leaving plenty of time to be at our super bowl viewing location of choice (or maybe go somewhere together). Any ideas?

Pack a day pack (and bring); extra gloves, clothing, snacks, water, thermoses (of HOT; soup, coffee, hot chocolate, or whatever.

Wear boots & clothing suitable for the conditions that day. Layers are best, and crampons or micro spikes are suggested, snowshoes if there's a significant amount of new snow.

Very nice hike along the beautiful Rye coastline. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves immensely in spite of the cold! Thanks to everyone for making this a great event. My special thanks to Claire & Boo, who's help may have gone unnoticed, but was so much appreciated!

We'll meet @ 12:00 NOON and leave for the hike at 12:15 PM. If you're now not going, PLEASE change your RSVP, otherwise we'll be waiting and wondering where you are. If this is the case your attendance will be marked as a NO-SHOW! What's that? Well, it's not a good thing!
