Details

The South Park Blocks are often referred to as Portland's "Living Room" and the city's "Cultural District". The Portland Center for the Performing Arts, the Portland Art Museum and the Oregon Historical Society are all well known landmarks surrounding this iconic public space. The South Park Blocks and vicinity are also the home to several of the most notable late 19th and early 20th century churches in Portland.

On this tour we'll visit up to nine of these fine buildings with a chance to view several interiors. We'll also see some of the stained glass designs by the legendary Povey Brothers Glass company. Changes in church-going habits have impacted these faith communities, and we'll learn how many congregations have adapted to these changes.

Tour covers approximately 20 city blocks on easy urban terrain and lasts about 2 1/2 hours, depending upon time spent on interior viewing.

Fee for this narrated tour is $15. You may pay by check or cash at the start of the tour. You may also use PayPal by following this link: http://bit.ly/22q0waD
