The South Park Blocks area is often referred to as the city's "Cultural District", because of several cultural icons located along the tree-lined avenues. The South Park Blocks neighborhood is also the home to several of the most notable late 19th and early 20th century churches in Portland.
On this tour we'll visit four of these fine buildings with a chance to view several interiors. We'll also see some of the spectacular stained glass designs by the legendary Povey Brothers Glass company. Changes in church-going habits have impacted these faith communities, and we'll learn how many congregations have adapted to these changes.
This tour includes a short walk of about four city blocks with most of the tour time spent on interior viewing. However, do dress for the weather!
Parking in the neighborhood is very limited, and public transit is recommended.
Fee for this narrated tour is $15. You may pay by check or cash at the start of the tour. You may also use PayPal by following this link: http://bit.ly/22q0waD
