Cherry flavored Ledo Loop, 22 mile bike ride

It finally looks like it has warmed enough for the cherry trees to start having sex. This is the same ride I have led for several years, but we will make a special trip thru the Kenwood neighborhood to maneuver around the tree gawkers and the pink snow before a nice lunch @ Ledo Pizza on River Rd.

I really enjoyed this ride, but agree that it was very crowded at times! I biked to the event, adding 20 miles to my ride, which increased the workout aspect of it for me. Enjoyed meeting everyone and look forward to future rides!

This "loop" on on and off multi-use paths and some sidewalks. All were in heavy use, biking at these time can be very challenging and not very enjoyable. Good to meet new people, nice to get out and see new paths however not that great of a time out...just my two cents.

Not on roads? where will we be off the roads? How much of this trip is off the main roads? Just the Capital Crescent?

Michael - Thanks for the info, I will have my mtn bike with me, has it sounds like the road bike is not the best option.

Hey Mike. Sorry to post again, i just wanted to make sure of: pace of the group and if we are going on the road. I have a road bike and won't ride in gravel trails. Please, let me know. Thanks.

This is a fairly slow-paced ride with regrouping points. It is also a social ride. I always use my all-terrain bike with smooth commuter tires when I am not riding on roads. While many people do this ride on a road bike with thinner tires, it is best with tires that are wider.

Thanks for the information. I only have a road bike. I do not think I can come to this one! Thank you and enjoy

I thought I would also mention that the entrance to Fletcher’s Boathouse is tricky. You can only drive into the entrance going west from Canal Road. I drive down Canal Road then turn left on Reservoir Road. I then turn around on Reservoir Road so I can cross Canal Road into the entrance.

Hi Mike, I would also like to know if we are using our road or mtn bike as well as the terrain. Please let me know thanks

Hi there, sounds good, though I'm a little intimidated about crowds, was down there last weekend to see cherry blossoms and could not move on foot, biking would be impossible. Mike, you've done this a few times, so reassure me, we will be able to actually move, and we're not going into the thick of it, yes?

While the Capital Crescent Trail and the Kenwood neighborhood will probably have more people than normal on Saturday, we should be able to get around.

This will be my first group ride in many years, and my first with Potomac Pedalers. Looking forward to it!
