Montgomery County Farm Tour and Picnic (17 to 75 miles) All levels

A Bike Ride, a Farm Tour and a Picnic!

Montgomery County’s Agricultural Reserve is much more than just a favorite local cycling destination. It’s home to more than 500 farms and orchards that supply much of our region’s fresh produce. There is no better way to experience our local farms than by bicycle!  Join us for the fifth edition of the Montgomery County Farm Tour!

***PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR FULL EVENT INFORMATION

THE PICNIC IS SOLD OUT, BUT YOU CAN STILL RIDE.***

Whether you choose a route of 17, 25, 35, 55 or 75 miles, you’ll enjoy lightly traveled roads and rural landscapes dotted with the local farming community’s red barns, silos and grand open spaces. And depending on which route you choose, you’ll have an opportunity to enjoy cider and fresh fruit pie à la Mode at Homestead Farm (we’ll start a little later this year, so the earliest early birds can get a slice!), local honey at the Comus Market, and the best gourmet picnic ever at the Kingsbury family’s beautiful orchard.

For full event information, visit:

http://www.potomacpedalers.org/?page=farmtour.

As in past years, volunteers will deliver the apples, cider and homemade jam that you purchase at Kingsbury’s Orchard back to your cars.

The Montgomery County Farm Tour is co-hosted by Potomac Pedalers and Montgomery Countryside Alliance, www.mocoalliance.org.

The organization, the 36-mile ride route, the picnic, the apple pie with ice cream, the rider friendship, and the Agricultural Reserve scenery were absolutely outstanding.

Hello All: I had a great time. Denise and others did a wonderful job and we appreciate their hard work. I made a couple of new friends; Trixie and Lynn. They were terrific in helping a novice rider - they are down to earth good folks.

Hi! I just joined Potomac Pedalers and want to do the 17-miler. How can I find you guys tomorrow? I'll be coming from Old Town if anyone wants to carpool. Can't wait to meet you people!

I have to cancel. I injured my left knee two weeks ago and have to recondition and strengthen it before attempting a 17 miler. Have fun!

Oh, no! I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope it mends very soon. If you registered for the picnic, come to that, at least.

May I sign up as a "maybe"? Plan A for tomorrow (moving) is looking questionable, and won't be settled untill tonight. This ride would be a welcome Plan B.

Is anyone else going on the 17 mile ride? This is my first outing with this group.

TONS of people are doing the shortest route. You'll have lots of company.

I've never gone on this ride, but this area is one of the best places to ride. I'm hoping for beautiful weather.

I would like to do the 17 or maybe the 25 miler. Hopefully the D riders will come out. Is anyone planning to do the picnic???? Sounds like fun - hope the weather is like we had this past Sunday.
