Gather at 8 PM; the ride leaves at 8:30 PM.
Enjoy the Nation’s Capital as few have - under the full moon (moonrise is at 6:42 PM), free from daytime traffic and congestion. From the Capitol to the Washington Monument, from the Lincoln Memorial to Hains Point on the banks of the serenely rippling nighttime Potomac. Illuminated
granite buildings, quiet streets, easy parking, and low traffic will contribute to a memorable experience. The event begins with refreshments at 8 PM, and the ride takes off at 8:30 PM
The ride typically lasts 90 minutes, and route sheets pointing out the sights will be provided.
Helmets and lights are required; lights will be available at wholesale cost for those who need to purchase them. A professional mechanic will be available to provide emergency mechanical support services, but bikes should be in sound order with working lights. The ride is free of
charge, but we are also raising funds for the Potomac Area Council of the nonprofit Hosteling International (formerly AYH), and encourage you to consider making a donation (recommended $10). Support will be provided by Mt Airy Bicycles / College Park Bicycles.
The PAC HI Hostel is at 11th & K St NW, near the McPherson Square Metro stop. Be aware the ride is on city streets and NOT closed to traffic.
