What we’re about
We are a friendly group learning and practicing our public speaking and communication skills in a relaxed, supportive and friendly environment. The club name is Speakwell and is part of Powertalk New Zealand.
Whatever you do in life, good communication skills are essential. Studies have shown that beating fear in one area of your life helps to make you confident in other parts of your life. Every speakers-club has it's own personality and ours leans towards a mixture of formality and informality. We learn and have fun; our growth is through doing speeches and presentations to get feedback, running meetings as well as some social events.
You are welcome to come and meet with us to see if it is a good fit with you and your goals. You will be given a welcome pack with information about our club and how to become a member. There is no cost for the first visit and you can visit up to 3 times before you are expected to join and become a member. We have a yearly fee (1 August - 31 July) of $NZ 100 which is pro-rata'd quarterly.
