Hi All,

Exciting news: Our member, David Grainger, is involved in pioneering research in mood enhancing biofeedback which can greatly enhance people's lives.

He has very generously offered to deliver a presentation and practical experience at our next Meet-Up on Thursday the 7th of November.

You can see details on this by clicking on the following link : https://www.dropbox.com/s/usom1rcg1rpamm5/Explanatory%20attachment%20re%20David%20Grainger%20Presentation.doc

or email him on his Practical Strategies homepage http://www.meetup.com/Practical-Strategies/members/17967032/ email section.

This promises to be a great opportunity for us. As spaces will be limited as usual , do please register asap.

best wishes.... Sean

Thank you Lorna. See how using the breath can change your mind state quite rapidly. :-)

Big thanks David. I combined the mood enhancement with this morning's meditation and can certainly feel a greater vibrancy. I'm looking forward to playing with this...I should be levitating within a week :-).

Yup...I know where it comes from and how it works. The point being, I think, how to keep it continuous. :-)

Not necessary to keep it continuous David but it is continuously accessible whenever required. Look forward to your insight though

Hello everybody, Hope that you enjoyed yesterday evening. I suggest you use the BeatStressSimply (BSS) biofeedback app workbook with an amount of serendipity; just weave and duck around it fluidly as you can and see if deploying the breath mindfulness can change your mind-state. It is NOT meant to be complex and it may work in a heartbeat for you!
After the core breathing skill1, the four recording skills are simply to
1.build up the emotional history of your life (like a photo album),
2.record your progress (acknowledge and fasten change)
3.promote self-disclosure as described by J. Pennebaker which is proven to give good psychological outcomes.
Remember, this is just an adjunct to therapy or, for personal training in changing stress to emotional resilience.
I have studied all the other emotional change inputs and I find them too time consuming and unwieldy and so I invented the BeatStressSimply BreathPacer. The conclusion would be to have an easier breath trainer as a resource.

Hi Everyone, just wanted to say I am unable to make Nov 7th which is a real shame. I have a performance that night with a comedy Impro group that I am part of. Have a great meeting and hopefully see you all at the next one. Cheers, Dave

TURNING STRESS INTO EMOTIONAL RESILIENCE - DANCE OF THE BREATH!
Yes, to all those in the group who would explore and develop our own resources, improve our emotional intelligence and increase emotional resilience, then our talk, feedback and discussion on Thursday 7th November, will demonstrate how we can, simply, change our physiology to change our mind state.
Rhythmic, smooth and even breathing is proven to increase Heart Rate Variability. Increased HRV is associated with decreased morbidity (lowers disease) and increased longevity and happiness...
