• Prague full-stack developers meetup #2

    HubHub Na Příkopě 14

Wohoo, the second meetup of Prague full-stack developers is here and we're bringing several amazing speakers from some of the most interesting software teams in Prague. You might already know this from the first meetup, but just in case: Please don't think of this meetup as "I will go there and watch what are these guys doing", but rather "I will go there and talk about interesting engineering topics". Let's be interactive! During any talk, if you have a question or a comment, just shout it out. Need to top up your beer? Go for it. Want to add the new awesome framework that you just heard about to your code base? Just do it, and then regret a few years later 🙂 🇬🇧All the talks will be presented in English. 🏠The event is kindly hosted by HubHub (https://www.hubhub.com/en/prague/) 🍕🍺Beer and food will be supplied by Apify (https://apify.com) and PipeDrive (https://www.pipedrive.com/) Here's the latest version of the program (subject to change): 🕘Start at 18:30 👨‍🏫Intro 👩🏻‍💻 To be or not to be a full stack developer Ladislav Prskavec | Apiary https://twitter.com/abtris My experience with full stack development from 2013 to now. 🧯65+ production deployments per day Tomas Rehor | Pipedrive https://www.linkedin.com/in/rehor 450+ production services with 100% automated CI/CD has great benefits, but also comes at a cost. Fail fast, fix fast is one of the possible strategies, one I will talk about too. What is the toolset needed to get this working and what are the impacts on engineering culture and way of working? I’ll cover all of that in my talk. 🥪Application layers, languages and tools in NetSuite Richard Fojta | NetSuite https://www.linkedin.com/in/richard-fojta-b3286879 Most of the coding in NetSuite is done in Java, but we also use other languages for different tasks and automation. We're using different databases, different components, and approaches. This talk will be an introduction to basics. 🎓UNIX philosophy in the age of cloud computing Jan Čurn | Apify https://apify.com/jancurn The simplicity and universality of UNIX were one of the key factors that sparked the computer revolution of the 80s. Is there anything in UNIX philosophy that can be applied in the age of cloud computing? ⚡Lightning talks (if any) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lightning_talk Do you have some topic that you'd like to present or discuss? Here's your chance to do a quick presentation in the lightning talk format. No need to announce the talk before, just go for it right at the meetup :) Nobody goes home before we finish all the beer and food 😃🤢

  • Full-stack developers kickoff meetup

    Prague Startup Center

This will be the very first meetup of Prague full-stack developers group. While there are interesting front-end and back-end meetups in Prague, we were missing one for full-stack developers, i.e. the people who are not afraid to write message queue-based server apps and code CSS rules some other time. But we want to make this slightly different than other meetups. So, please don't think of this is as "I will go there and watch what are these guys doing", but rather "I will go there and talk about interesting engineering topics". Let's be interactive! During any talk, if you have a question or a comment, just shout it out. Need to top up your beer? Go for it. Want to add the new awesome framework that you just heard about to your code base? Just do it, and then regret a few years later 🙂 All the talks will be presented in English. There are many expats in Prague working in tech who are excluded from other Czech-only meetups. Let's change this. 🍕🍺There will also be some beer and pizza, kindly provided by Apify -https://www.apify.com/ Here's the latest version of the program (subject to change): 🕘Start at 18:00 👨‍🏫Intro 👩🏻‍💻Let your open-source projects live in the cloud Jan Čurn | https://twitter.com/jancurn | https://www.linkedin.com/in/jancurn/ In this talk I will show how you can add your open-source projects a live presence in the cloud using Apify actors. Spare your users the need to install and deploy your software manually on their own infrastructure. And you don't need to pay a penny for the cloud hosting. 🚰Storing and processing unstructured JSON streams Marek Trunkát | https://www.linkedin.com/in/marektrunkat/ I will show you how we effectively store large results of long-running crawlers and use NodeJS streams to deliver them to our customers in a format of their choice. 👨‍🎨Introduction to styled-components Jan Dvořák | https://www.linkedin.com/in/jan-dvorak-iv-27596126/ CSS-in-js has become very popular with React developers. Let's take a look what it is and on the most popular implementation of this concept: styled-components. 🦕Fast-forward your docs with Docusaurus Ondra Urban | https://www.linkedin.com/in/ondra-urban/ Not too many developers enjoy writing documentation and building related tools instead of shipping actual application features. Fortunately, there are ways to avoid most of the hassle. With a combination of JSDoc, Markdown and Docusaurus, you can have a stunning documentation website up and running in no time. ⚡Lightning talks https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lightning_talk Here's your chance to present and discuss any topic in software development that you find interesting. You don't need to announce the talk before, just go for it right at the meetup :) 🤢Finishing of all the beer and pizza
