Point Douglas
This 7 km hike out to Winnipeg’s oldest neighbourhood will give us a chance to take in our city’s newest pedestrian bridge. Scenic highlights include sweeping riverscapes of old St. Boniface while wending through Juba Park and on past the Alexander Docks.

What we're about

Public Group

Prairie Pathfinders love to walk – whether it’s weekly walks in Winnipeg or scenic hikes outside the city. We love the fresh air, we love exploring, and we treasure the new and old friends who share our journeys.

The club organizes twice weekly urban walks from April through October. ( Monday mornings and Wednesday evenings) Our walks are in different parts of the city, many are routes from our guidebook, 'Winnipeg Walks'.

As well, we have almost a dozen special ‘out-of- town’ day hikes planned on the weekends. They range from 4 km to 14 km in length and take us well off the beaten path, exploring fabulous scenery and fascinating history.

membership - A Prairie Pathfinder Walking Club seasonal membership costs $25. With it you receive a name tag & lanyard and you don’t have to pay the $2 urban drop-in fee. Most people take out a membership just to show support for the club; it’s not necessary to have one to participate.

non-member participation - Participating in club walks without a paid membership, means that you’ll need to pay a $2 drop-in fee for urban walks. The $6 event fee for out-of-town walks is the same for members and non-members.

You can take out a membership by downloading a MembershipOnlineForm2016 ( and bringing your completed form with $25 to any Prairie Pathfinder event OR by sending it by mail with a cheque.
