Hike the Birch Ski Area in the Roseisle Hills
This is a picturesque hike on cross-country ski trails and has a number of scenic overlooks. It replaces the Pembina Valley Hike which we was cancelled due to flooding.

hike length - 6 km - 7 km
hike duration - 90 -120 min
hike difficulty - some steep climbs

DRIVING DIRECTIONS - Birch Ski Area is located near Roseisle, MB, approximately 27km west of Carman, MB. From the corner of PR240 & PR245 head 1 mile west along PR245 until you reach a blue sign marked "BIRCH SKI AREA" and turn left (southbound) onto Road 40W. Then continue straight for another 2 1/4 miles until you come to an intersection that has a white shed and turn right (westbound) onto Road 32N. Continue straight. Once you're up the big hill stay to your left and you will find yourself in the Birch Ski Area parking area.

Everyone welcome! Club members* pay $5. / Non-club members pay $15.

(Event fees will be collected at the beginning of the event) * Participants who have a current $25. annual Prairie Pathfinder walking club membership are eligible for the discount event price of $5.

Following the hike we can drive 55 km to the pretty town of La Riviere for their COMMUNITY SMORG (4-6pm)
It's an 'all you can eat' mouth-watering pickerel buffet at Blair Morrison Hall.  $13.50 adults (cash only)  Proceeds to LaRiviere & Community Recreation Centre's operating fund.

Another great trip in excellent company. Wendy's good weather and a delicious meal. Down side? No pie but I wouldn't have had room for it anyway and the ticks. Oh my, the ticks. The bonus was the Nodding Trillium.

Anyone with 1 extra seat in their car? Or I can drive with up to 6 passengers - seems to be not environmentally correct to drive out there myself!!
