What we're about
Precision Speakers club has been around since the 1990's and we meet each Thursday morning - 1st & 2nd Thursday in person and the other meetings on Zoom.
The focus of the club is to help each other become better speakers and leaders. Our group has a strong core and the weekly meetings consistently draw about 15 - 20 people (perfect size for a Toastmasters club). Visitors are always welcome!!
This is a well-organized club - the agenda is almost always finalized before the meeting begins.
~Each week we typically have three speakers, along with a Table Topics session (impromptu speaking) that is engaging and fun for the entire group.
~There's also an evaluation portion of the meeting where a lot of learning occurs.
~Near the end, we all vote for our favorite speaker, impromptu speaker, and evaluator. Just before the meeting adjourns the winners are announced and rewarded with a ribbon.
Altogether, the meeting lasts 90 minutes from start to finish. We encourage (but not require) visitors to participate.
Our early morning time draws out a variety of career professionals, along with some retirees, stay-at-home-moms, college students and others. We even have some club members who drive 30+ miles to participate in the club meetings each week. (when we were meeting in person of course!)
There's really a good mix of highly polished speakers/Toastmaster veterans as well as many who are novice and intermediate level speakers.
On the social side... our club members often get together for a weekday lunch (everyone is invited) and there are occasional parties sponsored by the club.
If your looking for a good club to practice your skills and meet new friends/acquaintances - Precision Speakers is an easy club to break into... we welcome you to join us!
