What we're about
We are the Prescott affiliate of Move To Amend. We are calling for an amendment to the US Constitution to unequivocally state that inalienable rights belong to human beings only, and that money is not a form of protected free speech under the First Amendment and therefore can be regulated in political campaigns.
Move to Amend is a broad coalition of organizations and individuals, who share common values, working together to end corporate personhood and demand real democracy. We welcome all organizations and individuals who embrace these values to join us.
The kind of things we do are: (1) Tabling, where we set up a table on the courthouse plaza (usually when there are festivals) and gather signatures on the petition and chat with passersby. (2) Construct protest signs and banners using poster board and canvas. (3) Use the signs that we make by hand...at a rally, speech, on the sidewalk, wherever. (4) Speak at civic organizations. (5) Teach a class at Yavapai College.
