Camping with the Coyotes via Hurricane Wash Utah 13+ RT

  • Coyote Gulch via Hurricane Wash, UT.

I was so bummed last year when I was too fat and miserable to make this hike, so I've decided to plan another trip.

We will leave on Thursday to head up to the trail head. There are no facilites, so bring extra water and such.

Friday morning we will begin our trek, camping around Jacob Hamblin arch approximately 7 1/2 miles up the canyon. On Saturday we can hike the 7 miles to the Escalante River with day packs, explore the area around the arch, or just hang out and enjoy the scenery and creek.

Sunday morning we will shoot for an early start back to the cars and the long drive home.

This is a moderate hike, though there isn't a lot of elevation change, we will be walking through a lot of sand and crossing the river. Make sure to bring appropriate footwear

Hallelujah! Well worth doing! Also, consider visiting Zion since it's along the way if you've never been there before... it's not far off the highway and easy enough to take a peek at for an hour or two if you have an annual parks pass.

For anyone curious about what to expect on the hike, check out photos from September 30, 2015 trip of the same name.

Oops! Made a mistake... I meant to say "visit Bryce Canyon along the way"-- not Zion.
