an invitation to contact your District 1 Representatives
Hi everyone! It was great to see so many of you at the meet up on Sunday! I wanted to share some information with all of you, as I believe we will need to be more vigilant than ever toward those governing us. Here is a direct quotation from our newly elected representative at the State House as reported on AZCentral.com during his campaign: "The greatest threat to Arizona's future is the same threat that faces the US as a whole: demographic change. The transition of the people of the US from predominantly European ancestry to a multi-cultural, multi-racial country is without precedent. There is no example of this kind of transformation being accomplished in a peaceful and successful way. We are seeing the fruits of racial and cultural pluralism play out violently on the streets of our country everyday. The demographic make up of Arizona is changing rapidly. Today sixty percent of Arizona's public school students are children of color. Our schools and prisons and other social institutions are overwhelmed with racial tension and conflict." If we are of the same mind, You also find this blatant racism terrifying. And yet, our district elected him, despite having an intelligent, highly-qualified, well-intentioned, moderate Democrat as an option. Stringer is an opponent of public education, and has told Prescott citizens in campaign forums that Arizona's top priority should be lowering taxes, as that will attract more retirees and make Arizona "as red as possible." During his campaign, he accepted more than $40,000 from Besty Devos' foundation - American Federation for Children, an anti-public school foundation designed to put taxpayer dollars toward private religious educations. I highly recommend putting his number into your phone, as I believe we will need to be contacting him frequently over the next few years. His number at the Capitol is[masked], and his email is [masked]. Let's let him know what he's gotten himself into by claiming to represent us. Our other rep, Noel Campbell, attached his name to Stringer's during the campaign, and therefore also benefitted from AFC money. His contact number is[masked] and his email is [masked]. Let's keep our eyes on these legislators, and make sure they hear from us every time they do something with which we don't agree. To steal a line from another Hillary - we are stronger together! Thanks! I hope to see A LOT of you guys this year!
