What if we saw life more as a playground and less as a prison?

This is a weekly drop-in practice group that fuses the practice of presence with the play of improvisational comedy. Each week we practice mindfulness meditation, getting into our bodies and grounding in the here and now, before embarking on a wild ride of improvisational games, movement and acted-out stories, weaved together with the art of being present. Together we cultivate connection, presence and playfulness that we'll learn to take with us into our day-to-day lives. And if we're feeling it in a month or two, we'll host an improv comedy show for friends and family (but no one will be forced to perform!) No experience in either mindfulness practice or improv is required to show up. All levels welcome :)

This has been changed to a weekly drop-in group! No RSVP necessary. We'll meet every Monday night, 7:15 - 9:30. The cost is $15 per session. You can check out Presence at Play: Mindful Improv Collective for the continuation after April 22nd.

About the facilitator, Shea Riester: Shea has been a buddhist meditation practitioner for nearly 10 years and trained as a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher at U. Mass Medical School. He has been teaching mindfulness for 5+ years and facilitating mindfulness and improv workshops for 2+ years. Shea trained in improv comedy with the ridiculously awesome masters of improv at Improv Boston in Cambridge, MA.
