What drew you to our group?

I was looking for a contemporary book club that was not over the top serious, fun in my age group ( I think), not too suburban. When I saw the May read, I thought great, I've already read it. So there you have it.

What genre of literature do find most appetizing?

Everything including cereal boxes, Women's nonfiction, historical novels, mysteries. I really like Allende. I have read all her books. Two summers ago I became hooked on Kristen Hannah although I was a little frustrated with "Fly Away" her new novel. It was repetitive. It just didn't flow. I finished"Sweet Water", baker Kline last week. I liked this very much. Really well written. Some other favs this year are "turn of Mind", " What Alice Forgot", and "When We Were Animals. I am currently reading "Orphan Train". I love the classics and try to reread 2 a year. I love Latin American writers, and feminist fiction and non fiction.

Do you prefer discussing books at local venues, or at the home of one of our members?

Either is fine.
