The Princeton Public Library hosts two writing groups (NOT run by PWG, we list this for your writing enlightenment).

Both meet on alternating Tuesday nights, from 7:00-9:00 pm.

Our own K. Edwin Fritz hosts one of these groups. He provides the deets:

On the Odd Tuesdays (1st & the 3rd Tuesdays of each month), the "Writer's Room" runs. It's the critique group. What we do is bring printed copies of up to 1,500 words of anything we want help on, and when it's your turn, you read aloud while everyone else follows along. Afterwards, people will give you their honest opinions, both good & bad, as well as addressing whatever your concerns were. They're a great group of people. Very polite. Very kind. But also very helpful. And it doesn't matter what level of writing you are at, they will respond appropriately. Depending on how long each person's piece is and how much everyone has to say about it, we usually get through at least 6 but as many as 10 or 11 people. Priority always goes to the new people or those who didn't get to go last time.

On the Even Tuesdays (the 2nd & 4th of each month), the group that I run meets. This one, called "The Write Space", is more about creating inspiration for writing. What I do is give people the first half hour to sit & write quietly whatever you feel like. There is some chit-chat, but generally people are very good about actually being quiet & allowing others to do work. At 7:30 sharp I rally the troops & give a random prompt. We then all get ten minutes to write about whatever that prompt was, and afterwards we share aloud (often to raucous laughter). Then we repeat until 9:00 comes and we get kicked out of the library.

Should there be one, there is no meeting on the 5th Tuesday of the month.

If anyone likes, I'd be happy to add you to my group's email chain. I use it for only 2 purposes: A reminder Tuesday mornings that tonight's group is meeting + a wrap-up the following morning for those who missed which also includes a "homework" prompt, should you choose to accept it. I could also give anyone's email to Todd, the guy who runs the other group if you are interested.
