  • Four Meadows mountain bike ride
There is a minimum number of 2 attendees for this ride to be a goer! If it doesn't happen this weekend I will post it again 馃槉These rides are for Procrastinating Pedaler members ONLY!! It's and easy fix if you're not a Pedaler member, I carry membership forms with me to the ride and we can get you signed up with the club before the ride, SO simple and SO worth it! The Pedaler's are a great cycling group who have fun events throughout the year, road and mountain bike rides and welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable group of riders to spend time with :) The Four Meadows Ride is a strong beginner/intermediate mountain bike ride. We will start at the T-junction of Henness Pass Road and be riding dirt roads/trails through the beautiful mountains to the north of Stampede Reservoir. We will be riding through 4 beautiful meadows full of flowers, birds and the occasional deer! This is a great way to usher in your mountain bike season. The climbs are minimal, the downhills plentiful and the views are worth the effort. Please join me for my first of the summer series of Procrastinating Pedaler's Mountain bike rides! Please bring a light lunch, snack and water. We will stop when we find a place you like to be in and eat. Please remember we are in the woods so bring any warm clothes you think you might need for the weather. It is usually warm unless there are clouds and then it can be a little chilly on the downhill sections. I'm looking forward to seeing you all in the dirt again and getting dirty together ;) Please let me know if you have any questions and thank you for joining in on another of the Pedaler's mountain bike rides! Electric mountain bikes are allowed as we are a welcoming and progressive group; no riding circles around the rest of us for laughs though! See you all soon:) Unless the ride is posted 鈥渘o drop,鈥 you will be expected to maintain the pace set as stated in the ride description. It is important to confirm your ability to do this ride. • It's Fall Clean Up Time! Non-Riding Event.
Join us for our Fall Clean up on Mayberry. The Pedalers have volunteered to clean a 1.3 mile stretch of Mayberry, from Fourth St. to Canyon Dr. (Where the Lamas are) We will meet at Dorostkar park at 1:00 PM. Bring work gloves if you can and dress for the weather. We will work rain or shine. Why: The Procrastinating Pedalers of Reno-Tahoe have sponsored about a mile of Mayberry Drive for the Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful Campaign. Signs are up on both sides of this corridor, reflecting that our club has adopted this section of the road. It is the busiest bicycling corridor in Northern Nevada! The Pedalers have committed to cleaning our spot at least 3 times a year and also to clean a "sponsored sight" once a year, a total of 4 cleanings. Please bring work gloves and wear your Pedaler鈥檚 Jerseys or club colors! Trash bags, some pick-up tools, and refreshments will be provided. See you there!

You're going to love this place. We will be riding on mostly single track trail with some small rocks and woop-tees (that's the noise you'll make going over these fun little bumps;), just to keep you on your toes. The trail is hard pack varied dirt, some loamy and some with a little DG. It is a series of loops and trails that all link onto each other through the forest. At some point you'll see the back side of Squaw Valley. The terrain is not technical and neither is this ride. Just fun, beautiful and another great place to ride your bike! We will be riding apprx. 12 miles. Please bring water, and a small snack or lunch if you like, we can take a break in one of the many beautiful meadows we will be riding through. The only hill is on the way out and the climb is moderate and not too long. I'm looking forward to riding this ride with all of you! Thanks for joining in on another of the Pedaler's summer mountain bike rides :) DIRECTIONS TO RIDE **Take highway 89 South out of Tahoe City, go 3.5 miles and make a right turn on Pine Avenue, then make another right turn on Tahoe Park Heights, which will take you up a 12% grade hill. At the top of the hill stay right and merge on to Big Pine, continue on Big Pine and turn left turn on Silvertip Drive, drive all the way to the end of Silvertip a dead-end. There is parking available at the end of the street. From the trail-head, the first meadow of Paige is 0.4 miles. • Bizz Johnson Rails to Trails Mountain, Hybrid, Gravel Grinder bike ride
*UPDATE** THESE MOUNTAIN BIKE RIDES ARE NOW ONLY AVAILABLE TO PROCRASTINATING PEDALER MEMBERS.YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO join the ride and sign up for a Pedaler membership with me at the beginning of the ride. I will have membership forms you can easily complete and I will collect the fee for the club and hand it in for you :) The membership covers many benefits and rides and events offered only to members. I am happy to go in to detail for you when you sign up. The membership dues are $30 for a single and $50 for a joint/family membership. HAPPY SUMMER RIDE EVERYONE!! We are back on the great Bizz J ride ;) There mat still been a couple wash-outs on the trail due to the big winter of '17. We may have to hike and bike around some debris or other obstacles on the trail. Bring along your sense of adventure! :) It will be a scenic route along the Susan River on a fairly flattish rails-to-trails trail. What does that mean you ask, well never above a 2-3% grade that's what, so easy for all of us after a summer of riding! We will follow the trail along the river through the Susan River Canyon and it's just beautiful there! It is semi-arid as well as forested with Pine, Fir and giant Cottonwoods. We will be crossing the river quite a few times on bridges and railroad trestles and there will also be railroad tunnels (if you have a light bring it, it's dark in there), to ride through as well as some very scenic views of the area. There are also historic sites along the way. It's going to be a colorful and peaceful ride. Please bring a lunch and extra water. There are plenty of benches along the way and we can choose where we have our lunch once we're on the trail. There is no access to water once we start heading out so bring a pack and enough water for a 13 mile out and back ride. That's 26 MILES TOTAL. We will be riding uphill on the way out so the way back will be a breeze, literally all down hill :) This ride can be done on a mountain bike; ideal, a gravel-grinder bike with 700/38+ tires or a fast hybrid (think Specialized Sirrus or Dolce). The trail is dirt, loose and mostly hard packed. There may be bumps, but nothing gnarly we can't handle. It may still be pretty hot and sunny so wear your sunscreen and comfortable cool clothes. I am really looking forward to the fall series of rides with all of you and this is the best way to kick them off! I will not put a limit on the number of riders for this ride just please show up with the appropriate bike, tubes and water and food so we can all stay relatively close together. As usual I won't leave any one behind and will go over safety at the start of the ride. Looking forward to riding with you all again and thanks for signing up for another excellent Procrastinating Pedaler's Mountain Bike Ride :) DIRECTIONS TO RIDE: To reach the Susanville Depot, follow Highway 36, which becomes Main Street in Susanville. Continue on Main Street through Historic Uptown Susanville to Weatherlow Street, at the base of the hill. Turn left on Weatherlow (which becomes Richmond Road) and continue 0.5 mile to the Susanville Railroad Depot Trailhead Visitor Center, where you can park. The trail begins at the depot. WE will MEET in the PARKING AREA at the depot, you'll see us there! Looking forward to riding with you all!
