We're changing things up a bit for this months event, with a group of awesome Auckland Product people giving a 5 - 10 minute lightning talk on the theme of 'How I did it' - how they apply techniques and processes in the real world!

Our Speakers are as follows:
Kevin Soo:
How I PM in a remote company
Given that product management is a highly collaborative role, it is hard to imagine how it can be done remotely. In this talk, Kevin will share how things work at Timely - what tools they use and the secret sauce of shared understanding.

Kevin is currently a Product Owner at Timely, and was previously at Preno and Vend.

Aylon Herbet:
Cycles vs Sprints
Sprints can feel rushed, with the Product person often feeling rushed with no time to think strategically and feeling more like a Project Manager than a Product Manager. Recently Aylon came across a different way of working that called Cycles that could be a better way for a lot of businesses.

Aylon is currently a Product Owner at Actionstep, and was previously with 9 Spokes and OraHQ.

Ajay Ravi:
Building things right/Building the right thing
Ajay has transitioned from a technical to a product role, and will share what he has learned in transitioning his mindset from building things right to building the right things.

Ajay is currently a Product Manager at Air New Zealand and was previously a technical and product lead.

Leonie Wise:
Talking to Customers
Leonie will share why she loves talking to customers and how this is useful for validation, discovery and relationship building. She'll cover how she prepares for a conversation, the types of questions she asks (and what isn't asked) and how learnings are synthesised and shared.

Leonie is currently a Product Manager at Pushpay and has previously worked as a Product Analyst and Project Manager.

Franck Bassy:
Prioritisation and Roadmaps from a UX perspective
Franck will talk about how NZTA are driving product decisions, priorities and roadmaps, from a user research point of view and how it guides the User Experience. He'll share his experience working in an outcome driven environment, where they want to change the behavior of commuters and travelers.

Franck is current a Product Manager at NZTA, and was previously with Unleashed Software and Vend.

Big thanks to GridAKL and Gentrack for sponsoring this event!
