On the 23rd May 2010, a small group of Product Managers got together in a pub in London for the very first Product Tank. That network has now grown to 10s of thousands of Product Managers in 100s of cities across the globe.

Product Tank Bristol celebrates the 8th anniversary and the very first "World Product Day" with a very, very inspiring lineup, including a very special guest speaker;

Firstly we have Alice Sowerby, COO at Dotmesh, a cloud native data management startup. She's a veteran of the startup world, you may know her from ClusterHQ, a Bristol-based startup from a couple of years ago. Alice is now guiding Dotmesh through finding product-market fit and building its corporate structure.

Alice is talking about ‘Banners - Supporting self-managing teams’; Startups are high-uncertainty environments, so how do you manage a team that needs both flexibility and stability? In this talk Alice will share the approach she has used at Dotmesh to surface the rules of the game while supporting autonomy and minimising overhead. Banners borrows ideas from Scrum, Holacracy and jazz to provide a simple but effective framework for running an organisation.

Boz Kay, Technical Director of Nowhere Group, will be taking us through an updated version of his talk on Unlocking Creativity. Nowhere Group work with huge corporations and educational institutions around the world, training the leadership. Boz applies the same principles in their software development.

Thor Mitchell, Chief Product Officer at Crowdcube; as a Chief Product Officer, VP of Product, or Head of Product, your team is your product. But how do you build a Product team from scratch, with the right culture, that gets stuff done? Join us on a journey from mid level Product Manager with no reports, all the way to the C-Suite, with mistakes made and lessons learned along the way.

***Incredibly, we have a special guest speaker; Margaret Heffernan, international business woman, TED speaker, Author and Lecturer at the School of Management at University of Bath. Margaret will be talking about great teams...*** WHOOP WHOOP!

Due to this incredible line up, our fabulous hosts Cookpad have allowed us some extra space so I'm pleased to say we can accept a few more RSVPs than normal. Please please get the date in your diary and update your RSVP asap if you can't come so that all the spaces are filled.

The format for those that don't know:
6pm - doors open, grab a drink
6.30pm - talks start (Margaret will be up first, you do not want to miss this!)
8pm - talks finish, grab more drinks and possibly some food
9pm - head to the Old Market Assembly for further drinks should people want to continue chatting

Look forward to seeing you all there.
