In this Product Meetup we open up some of the traps and fallacies that haunt a company and organization as it aims to undergo a metamorphosis from a project-based, tailored solution software house, to a product house.

What is the motivation to change? What patterns would indicate it is time to make such change? Why it is lucrative for company and customers?

The rhetoric about the Product Company is quickly coined, and the business case arguing for it is easily sold to the Board and investors. All that is needed anymore is the announcement of an organizational change, including the re-drawing of corporate org charts, and a high-level process model explaining the happy new path. Done! – or is it?

Sacha Helfenstein is currently heading Design as part of Qvantel Products unit. Earlier he has been leading Portfolio and Product Management, and as Head of Concept Creation [masked]) he has been giving birth to many of the applications in current product portfolio.
Prior to Qvantel, Sacha functioned[masked] as Customer Experience Governance Manager at Orange Communications, Switzerland, responsible for the operator's customer insight program as part of the overall business value-creation strategy. He also holds a PhD in Cognitive Science, engaged in academic research and teaching for 20 years (mainly related to topics around building a Digital World for Human Beings).
