Last month’s event was one of our best ever, and this month’s event promises to be even better again.
This month we take a look at user testing.
To paraphrase Eric Ries, almost any product can technically be built these days. The real question is ‘should it be built?’, what real problem are we solving and do customers care enough about that solution that they will buy our products?
It still amazes me how rarely product managers “get out of the building” to talk with end users. But even if you do, what techniques can be used to truly develop understanding? How do you avoid introducing your bias to the results? This month, we have two experts to tell us the right way to interact with our customers and also a chance to have a quick tour of the cutting edge user research lab at Nealite, our sponsor this month.
Address: 10, RUE DU FAUBOURG POISSONNIÈRE
18:30 - 19:00 Welcome, grab a beer, networking
19:00 - 19:30 Grandin Donovan, User Research Director at Nealite, "Fight RITE: Going rounds between Assumptions and Users"
Rapid Iterative Testing and Evaluation. What it is, how it's different from typical testing, why it's worthwhile, some variations on how it's done, and some recommendations on when and when not to do it.
19:30 - 20:00 Alessandro Catania, Research Director at Attoma, "Ethnographic research (with your client!) to understand user behaviour in context".
20:00 - 22:00 Networking and drinks
Now, in case all of you are rushing off to get your dictionaries, let me help out by defining Ethnography as “the collection of empirical data on human cultures to leverage their social meanings and ordinary activities in naturally occurring settings”
Places for this event will be extremely limited.
