Having a mixed background in computer engineering and design has allowed me to explore their overlaps in human-computer interaction and the changing media landscape. What do you love about being a product manager?
Getting the architecture and business logic of the product right, first and foremost. Then seeing peoples' eyes light up at the client demos and user tests, as they suddenly realise what you did there.
What do you hate about being a product manager?
The usual: managing expectations, hidden agendas, avoidable fuck-ups, middle-of-the-night-urgencies, and alike. Wouldn't call it hate, though: challenge is a better descriptor, at least in my book.
