Thanks Fred  I will send everyones answers to Brian so he can choose. I like the way you explained astrology. That is exactly how I feel about the God concept.

Sounds like a great night, great topic.  As far as what I'd like him to talk about:  Astrology is a great idea.  I'd add that anything he wants to talk about the early history/prehistory of the way we developed our knowledge of the sky in general, and how astrology was a part of all that, would be fascinating.  The theme to me is that astrology was intimately linked with our early gains in understanding of the skies, but that those who hold onto any of it today need some serious educating on how far our knowledge has accumulated past those stages we were at 4000 + years ago.

We are meeting at Powell Observatory http://kansastravel.org/powellobservatory.htm on June 7, Friday around 6 or so with a potluck. Brian Thomas (Field: Physics and Astronomy http://www.washburn.edu/our-faculty/brian-thomas) and family will join us. What would you like Brian to talk about? My idea is astrology just for the fun of it.  What do you think? What would you like him to talk about?  I would like to post this to the Skeptics in the next few days so I can move on to the next project.
