Nearest tube is Picadilly Circus. Turn up Regent Street and take the second turning on the left into Vigo Street. Starbucks is on the right hand side. Grab a coffe and we will be on the first floor with a Meetup sign on the table.
Hello everyone. This will be the first meeting of this group in 2017. As usual we'll be talking about our own experiences with psoriasis and what we are doing to deal with it.
This is a group for anyone interested in alternative treatments for psoriasis, and dietary solutions in particular. I have had a mild form of plaque psoriasis since 1994, but I have been a bit lazy about getting medical treatment for it and have mainly concentrated, over the years, on improving my diet. It would be good to hear from people with more knowledge than me about the conventional treatments that are available.
I am also interested in hearing about any other approaches other people have tried, however unusual. Has anyone visited the Dead Sea or had their legs nibbled by Turkish fish? My main approach is to use diet to manage the condition, but if anyone has found something else that works, come along and let us know.
Obviously, we can't give out medical advice, but I thought it would be useful to get together and talk informally about what has worked - or not worked - for us and share our knowledge of what treatments we have tried or heard about.
The idea would be to meet up in a coffee shop once a month and swap notes, but I am open to suggestions about what form the group should take. We could have some guest speakers come in, and, if anyone knows any entertaining books written about psoriasis, we could read them as well. The main thing though is that we share our knowledge together to find more effective ways of managing psoriasis. For the moment, the first meeting will be in Starbucks, but if anyone has any ideas for any suitable free venues in central London, let me know.
