Come experience a Toastmasters meeting!

Looking to improve your speaking and leadership skills? Ace a job interview? Ignite your career?

You have come to the right place. Since 1924, more than 4 million people around the world have become more confident speakers and leaders because of their participation in Toastmasters.

Membership in Toastmasters in one of the greatest investments you can make in yourself.

How Does It Work?

  • A Toastmasters meeting is a learn-by-doing workshop in which participants hone their speaking and leadership skills in a no-pressure atmosphere. A typical meeting lasts 60 minutes.
  • There is no instructor in a Toastmasters meeting. Instead, members evaluate one another’s presentations. This feedback process is a key part of the program’s success. Meeting participants also give impromptu talks on assigned topics, conduct meetings and develop skills related to timekeeping, grammar and parliamentary procedure.
  • Members learn communication skills by working in the Competent Communicator manual, a series of 10 self-paced speaking assignments designed to instill a basic foundation in public speaking.
  • Members also learn leadership skills by taking on various meeting roles and working in the Competent Leader manual. In our learn-by-doing approach, we don't lecture members about leadership skills; we give them responsibilities and mentoring to help. Then we ask them to lead.

If you are interested in honing your communication and leadership skills in a fun, professional and supportive environment, come check out the Small Business Chamber Toastmasters club Tuesdays from 12-1pm.

Outstanding meeting Tuesday to include a speech about attitudes by Dave Lynah and an educational presentation on the roles and responsibilities of Toastmasters by Jessica Neeley. Tiffany Norris had the entire group participating in a story telling table topic about the fears you have as children and the scary basement. It was fun and entertaining!!! Hope you'll join us Tuesday, October 22, from 12-1pm at Saint Leo University Savannah Center for another fun meeting!

I'm looking forward to another amazing meeting with a diverse group, with a little more emphasis on leadership on 10/15/13. Hope you can join us!
