What we're about

Well Hello! Welcome to Austin, and Welcome to Publik Tennis!

My name is Ross Krachey, and I started Publik Tennis almost 4 years ago in moving to Austin from Miami, where I first picked up a racquet. Actually, I called it "The Krachey Klub" back in those days... but no matter, you have now found one of the strongest Tennis Meetups, connected with the strongest Facebook group for tennis in Austin!

Technically, I'm a Realtor by day, but in reality I have a business partner helping my friends and fellow tennis lovers with the house hunting, while I focus 100% of my time on growing tennis in Austin Texas. What does that mean, how does that work?

Well, I've now organized over 2,000 tennis matches for other people here in Austin, while also hosting the three biggest free tennis events in the city, putting 120 players on 35 tennis courts for the "Wilson World Demo Tour!" Get this, I didn't even know then, but my now friend, Ray Carvalho, Brazilian Davis Cup player with wins over Del Potro and Tsonga came out for that event!

I currently support 4 USTA league teams to put players on, and am aimed on growing to 8. "Show and Play" events, all levels and genders welcome, at the UT Whitaker courts this past year have started averaging around 60 players on Tuesday Nights, and 30 on Thursdays. In light of all of this, took notice of myself and this Meetup! They gave me a position in Austin as the "Austin City Organizer". It doesn't mean much to you, unless you are a Meetup organizer I'll work with, but one thing it is going to be incredibly good for in this city: Tennis!

So, without further ado, join this Meetup and browse through some of the 300 (!!!) past Meetups it contains. BBQs, Wimbledon Lunch Watch Parties, Ping Pong Socials - anything you can think of for the tennis world has probably been at least attempted here. Looking forward to meeting you on the courts!
