What we're about

This group is for People of Color. For the purpose of this group, People of Color is defined as non-white, members of black [African diaspora] and brown skinned [including non-white Latinx, API, Indian, Desi, Persian, Middle Eastern, North African, etc] and Native & Indigenous US minorities who:

• Have a desire for deep community and Poc solidarity.
Are interested in reading and building community that is adaptable, fractal, decenters whiteness and white supremacy, healing, rejuvenating, magical, spiritual and filled with love and belonging.
• Are interested in reading works of POC who have been doing this work of trying to transform ourselves to transform thw world.
• Can consent to focusing on the small, spiritual growth, ancestor wisdom, intuition and wholeness so that we have capacity to exist in a world that was not created for us to thrive.
• Rooting out bias towards humans of all genders, races, ethnicities, cultures, socioeconomic statuses, abilities, wellness levels, mental states, so that we can create communities where everyone doesn't have to be the same to find true love and belonging.

Our first focus will be communally reading Emergent Strategy by adrienne maree brown and perhaps separately or together reading other works by radical Black and poc authors, and discussion, community building and personal transformation with each other building on the wisdom in these works and in ourselves and our lineages.

I also have vision for a communal hub in South Seattle. There is a co-op in Seward Park that is centered around practicing Emergent Strategy and being a hub for community, growth and transformation in South Seattle.

This Group meets Bi-weekly per the request and decision of members during our first two gatherings.
