Since these wineries are so close and since they are both releasing wines during the same weekend, it just makes sense to visit both.
We've had many events at Bartholomew Winery (http://bartholomewwinery.com/) and Bart is member of the group. (Hi Bart!!) Here's what's in store:
The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon. 100% Cab Sauv from Upland Vineyard in the Snipes Mountain AVA. Only 72 cases produced! $30/bottle.
The 2012 Aligote. This beauty is from Upland Vineyard in Snipes Mountain. 100% Aligote. 118 cases produced. $19/bottle.
And last but not least, the ever popular 2012 Viognier. This lovely wine is made from grapes sourced in the Columbia Valley. Lawrence Vineyard is located near Royal City. 100% Viognier. 88 cases produced. $17/bottle.
Next we'll move over to Cloudlift Cellars (http://cloudlift.net/), which is maybe about 2 mi. away. This will be the second vintage ever for vintner and maker of beautiful wood furniture, Tom Stangeland. Some of the first vintages have already won awards. Can't wait to try the new wines!
2010 Ascent (2009 Vintage: Platinum Award, Wine Press Northwest; One of only 100 wines chosen to represent the US in the 6 Nations Wine Challenge.)
2010 Halcyon (2009 Vintage: Gold, 2012 Seattle Wine Awards)
2010 Panorama (2009 Vintage: Silver 2011 Tri-Cities Wine Festival; Silver 2012 Savor NW Wine Awards)
Also on hand will be the 2011 Chardonnay and Updraft (Bronze, 2011 and Bronze, 2012 respectively at the Tri-Cities Wine Festival)
Come and go as your schedule allows. I'll stay at Bartholomew until about 2:30 - 3pm. Then I'll go to Cloudlift.
See you there!
