To discuss, learn and explore the j2Objc Transpiler by google

https://github.com/google/j2objc is a translator-compiler which enables developers to write code in Java and have it translated to Objc. Google itself uses this to develop the Inbox app so it has proven capabilities.
What is lacking is an ecosystem for using this tool for practical purposes.

So, i am starting to design the talk for this meet-up and wanted to know a couple of things.
    1. Do folks here prefer a theory based approach to explaining things or should we have a very hands-on session ?
    2. Also, pertaining to the question above, can and do people generally bring their own laptops to a meetup ?

This is my first time attending / talking at this meetup so just want to make sure I am in-sync with the audience.

We are open for both but so far most of sessions were theory based with little to no hands on session. My suggestion is to keep it mostly as theory based and if all or some audience is interested we can do some hands on session too. There are no issues with bringing their own laptops. We also have WiFi available for all if needed

Apple has open sourced 'swift'. We will propbably writing android apps in swift soon.

Soon is a misnomer when we talk about such technologies! Swift being open sourced is just an announcement. Even after it is released, it will take considerable time to understand how the innards of the language and compiler work.

It's really a great translator-compiler according to my views, which makes developers works effectively, so now work for one platform and run your app on other.
Is there any Obj-c to Java translator-compiler ? Please let me know.
