Building Spring MVC apps using Groovy

Introducing Groovy in existing Spring MVC Apps.

So we all agree that dynamic languages give huge productivity boost to developers. But it's hard (read it impossible) to migrate existing enterprise projects to a new platform or language.

In this talk, we will see a real life scenario of how groovy can be introduced gently into an existing Java/Spring stack without making any dramatic changes to a project and then incrementally making changes to make project groovier.

We will choose a standard spring mvc maven based project. You can bring along your laptops and code along as we go or just watch groovy in action.

Thank you Kunal! By the way, I will work this week to get something (published!) going with PuneTech.com. I mentioned about this already to Saager. Good night!

Kudos to Kunal for his excellent presentation. His code and the resulting discussion went well beyond the confines of the topic to shed light on several interesting tools like SiteMesh and Groovy Eclipse compiler plugin for maven. He has set the bar for future speakers pretty high!

Owing to certain constraints, I'm limiting the seat count to 30. But we are working to increase this and might just be able to accommodate more.

Nevertheless, I'd urge you to RSVP early so that we have a better estimate of attendees and can avoid confusion at the venue.

    Thanks.
