What is your main reason for joining the group?

Our mission statement below is imprinted on our hearts! We search for the Papillons that will die if we don't help them. Not every rescue will take dogs who they are old, ill, have special or behavioral needs. Papillon 911 Rescue and Adoption, Inc. rescue Papillons and Papillon mixes nationwide. We will supply food, shelter, and loving attention plus medical and dental care to all Papillons in need. We will rescue and shelter ANY Papillon or Papillon mix abandoned in a kill shelter or from an owner who is unable to care for the Papillon. We will especially FOCUS our attention on locating and rescuing from a life of horror those dogs used as breeders in PUPPY MILLS. We will participate in the rescue and placement of Papillons who are culled from the puppy mills or purchased at puppy mill auctions NO MATTER what their health or age. We will take responsibility for each Papillon that becomes a part of Papillon 911 Rescue and Adoption, Inc. for the REST OF IT'S LIFE.

Please give us some background on your dog(s). Age? Where did the dog come from? What past training have you done with your dog?

All of my pets have been rescues whether they found me or I found them. Currently I have an owner surrender 30lb Terrier mix with an abuse back ground and a 10lb Papillon Mix that came from a neglective home. Little Gracie lost her front leg because her family didn't take her to the vet after being hit by a car. Nine months later she came to our rescue because she was taken to the vet to be put to sleep. She had terrible skin problems because of allergies, fleas & ticks that she was covered with as she lived tied to a tree in her back yard. She was and still is a very loving dog. Although we were told that Charlie was good with people and dogs, we found neither was true. He brought blood several times as my husband tried to help Charlie change. He does have some dog friends & he doesn't lunge at people like he used to do. He is still very leery of anyone or any dog that he doesn't know, but we continue to work on these issues.

Does your dog come from a puppy mill or hoarding situation?
