PyLadies Monthly Meeting

  • Nov 14, 2012 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

This month's meeting is about GitHub! Yes! That crazy version control stuff that you hear about but either don't understand fully, or need a bit more information on, and maybe a neat little trick or two.

We'll also have a lightning talk about sorting lists and dictionaries. Brush up on our lists and dicts and learn a little bit about them before we dive into the basics of GitHub.

nb: Please remember that monthly meetings are restricted to members who are, or identify as, female. We plan to have workshops in the future where men will be welcomed as guests of women, however our monthly meetings are for women only. We do have some men who are members of our group, these awesome guys are speakers and presenters that have volunteered to help us out, and should they be presenting they may be present at monthly meetings.

TO GAIN ENTRY TO MAILCHIMP (PLEASE READ THIS!):

There is a parking lot at Big Nerd Ranch, so parking isn't a problem at all. There are two doors, one on the side of the building and one in the front, if you come to the side door, you'll be entering through the kitchen, and someone will probably see you easier from that door. There is a call button at the front door, and we should hear you if you press that, but the kitchen is probably a safer bet :)

Should you be running late, please TEXT my google voice number at[masked] and let me know you are outside and someone will come and let you in. AFTER 7:30 WE WILL NO LONGER BE LETTING PEOPLE IN. So please be there before 7 and we can all enjoy the talk and eat free food and write some code!

Sorry I missed the meeting, I went to the wrong place. I mis-read the email thinking it was an old one regarding the Hack night. It turns out it was a blessing as I ended up getting a chance to visit my BFF who is in Grady Hospital.

I won't make next months meeting as I'll be on vacation and January meeting is dicey as I may be on a business trip. So most likely I'll not be around until February. :-(

I really missed you all. Hopefully I'll be more consistant next year.

I just moved from California, so that is plausible, but I thought it best to check.

7pm eastern time (though I guess that's 4pm Pacific, so perhaps there's a timezone issue?)

Do meetings start at 4pm or 7pm? The e-mails I've been getting say 4pm (when I'm still at work), but here it sounds like 7pm.
