[ONLINE] Study Group 📖: Python for Data Analysis (Wes McKinney) - Chapters 1&2

Are you interested in data analysis with Python but do not know where to start? Then this is the place for you. In this bi-weekly study group we will go through 1-2 chapters of the book “Python for Data Analysis” (Wes McKinney, 2nd edition). The focus is on Python programming and different libraries for data analysis. This meetup is for you who wants to learn how to best take advantage of specific Python libraries used for data analysis like pandas, numpy, matplotlib, scikit-learn, scipy, statsmodels. During the meetup we will discuss what we’ve learned, tackle difficult problems together and learn from each other. Most importantly we will support each other through the process of learning. 💭 Group discussions are the best way to learn something new and have someone else motivating you to reach the finish line! ################################################################### ⚡ MEETUP FORMAT 17:30-17:40 Mingle & getting to know each other 17:40-18:10 Summary of selected chapter(s) by the organizer 18:10-19:00 Group discussions 📅 HOW TO JOIN [ONLINE Session] with Google Meet: Link is available for registered participants. 📖 BOOK “Python for Data Analysis” by Wes McKinney, 2nd edition (https://www.programmer-books.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Python-for-Data-Analysis-2nd-Edition.pdf) Github Repo: http://github.com/wesm/pydata-book REQUIREMENTS - Python 3.6 or higher (Installation & Setup are covered in Chapter 1) - Read through the specific chapter(s) before the meetup in order to make most out of the group discussions 😃 RECOMMENDED - Jupyter Notebooks (Will be used by the organizer & Installation is covered in Chapter 2) ❓ If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact the organizer at [masked] 📅 SCHEDULE[masked]: CHAPTER 1 Preliminaries & CHAPTER 2 Python Language Basics, IPython and Jupyter Notebooks[masked]: CHAPTER 3 Built-in Data Structures, Functions, and Files[masked]: CHAPTER 4 NumPy Basics: Arrays and Vectorized Computation[masked]: CHAPTER 5 Getting started with pandas Preliminary re-start after Christmas break:[masked]: CHAPTER 6 Data Loading, Storage, and Files Formats
