This meetup will open up by a lightening talk from
David Hallvig on how they use Python at Campanja.
After that we have two talks, approximately 30-40 minutes each:
1. Object-oriented programming in Python (Beatrice)
Python is a great scripting language that you can use to speed up your everyday computer work and relieve yourself of repetitive and boring tasks, but it doesn't stop there. Python is also a full-blown object-oriented programming language, although its implementation differs a bit from statically typed mainstream languages like Java or C#. We will take a short trip from scripting to OO and look closer at what's special with the Pythonic approach.
2. Python for data analysis: do's and don'ts (Oxana)
Outline: So you have some data, you can do Python. Now how do you go about organizing a data analysis project? What software design approach to use? Which libraries are available in Python? What are the common pitfalls and how to avoid them?
Before and afterwards we have time to mingle, have some drinks/sandwiches and admire the new Campanja's office.
If you want your friends (PyGentlemen included) to come along, feel free to invite them as guests.
How to get to Campanja:
We are located at 17 Sveavägen and there is an entrance gate up to our office to the left of the large Inet store/sign. Please go up the stairs and enter to the right to get into the new Campanja office.
