Django Database Migrations with South; DjangoCon Recap

Derek Stegelman is fresh off his trip to DjangoCon and will be presenting a recap of what he learned at the conference as well as talk about how he uses South as part of his day job as a Django developer.

This will be an introductory talk on what migrations are, how to build them, and best practices with regards to model/database development.

He will also discuss some talks from DjangoCon and what you need to know moving forward with the Django web framework -- some highlights include new migrations being added to the Django core, and a re-vamp of transaction support.

I've reserved the meeting room at the Colorado Welcome Center (corner of Prospect and I-25).  Hopefully this works better for our folks coming from out of town.  Just come in the front door.  The Welcome Center will be closed, but someone will be there to let us in.

Thanks Derek. Good food for thought with the migration stuff.
