What we're about

This is a group for people who wish to study Python and improve their programming skills. At this time, we are primarily all beginners at programming, and we will be aiming to complete a chapter per week of the book _Learning_Python_ by Mark Lutz (O'Rielly), which you can purchase on Amazon. I also have a couple copies I can lend if purchasing a book is an obstacle. At the discretion of those who show up to participate, we might also sometimes have lightening talks, longer presentations about python projects, or do some pair programming if someone has something on which they are working.

Please note that at this time there is no charge for the meetings, and no one will be turned away for lack of funds to donate to cover costs. It's not free for the host, however! The hat will be passed around at each meeting to request help paying for this meetup (I paid $60 in advance for 6-month subscription) as well as the room rental at Satellite. Satellite is giving us a deeply discounted price based on the number of attendees ($25/week minimum), so each attendee is encouraged to pitch in around $5 for the room, or more if they can afford it to support those who cannot.
