  • Chris G returns to give us a follow up to his automation talk from last year. Come out and discuss Automation Testing. Use a different framework let us know at the meeting and lets discuss.

    -Automation goals: Reusable?, Efficient?, Accurate?
-Why record and playback is inadequate for webpage test automation. A brief look at iframes, popup windows and AJAX controls.
    -Why Google is your friend.
    -Levels of/approaches to test automation.
-Why a test automation engineer is a programmer.
-A basic code driven automation test.
-The importance of baby steps when automation testing a new application.
-Look at a data driven test framework.
-Creating reusable functions and function libraries.
-Discuss the use of Excel to almost eliminate coding from a mature test automation framework.
-Look at how keywords can be integrated into test automation.
-Combining Data, keywords, and test cases into an automation framework that requires no* additional coding.
-Why your job as an automation engineer never ends. (*there will always be opportunities to improve your code)
    -Selenium and C# .net.

Have any suggestions for future talks, or great content that we could use for discussion? Let Jessica or myself know and we will get it on the calendar!
