Qigong is suitable for beginners of all ages, backgrounds and ability level.

It requires no equipment, can be practiced indoors or outdoors, and can be done sitting or standing (and in some cases lying down).

It serves as a practical way to improve general health and well being, by utilizing techniques that reduce mental stress and physical tension.

Through developing body awareness, coordination and unity in movement, Qigong increases flexibility, joint movement, and balance.

Qigong serves as an effective compliment to acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, and is often recommended to patients as a form of self-care.

As a mindful movement practice, Qigong also serves as an alternative or addition to Yoga and Pilates.

Qigong skills are tools to cope with the stresses and difficulties of real life.

Through diligent practice of posture, relaxation, breathing technique and mental intention, you learn to utilize and conserve your energy in a practical, everyday sense.

"Qi" means energy, and "gong" means work or skill.
