Last year we had a lot of enthusiastic participants at our quantum meetups. It’s time for the next round! Will you join the hands-on workshop, or you prefer to take a deep dive in the application areas?

We will start the meetup with a quantum computing warming up by Anna Moskova from Aconit software. After the welcome it’s time for the breakouts. You can choose to join the technical team to get a hands-on workshop using the Quantum Experience. Or you join the discussion about the application areas of quantum computing.

Break out 1: Hands on workshop Qiskit and IBM Q Experience
Experts at IBM are building quantum computers with the potential to solve some problems beyond the reach of classical systems. People today can access real quantum computers through the cloud to conduct research and explore new problems. Since 2016, IBM has enabled cloud-access to real quantum devices and simulators. During this workshop we will explore quantum algorithms with Qiskit and IBM Q Experience.

Would you like to join the hands-on workshop? Don’t forget to bring your laptop! Closer to the date we will ask you to do some pre-work to make sure we won’t waste time on installations, etc.

Break out 2: Discussion applications of quantum computing
Quantum computers take advantage of the laws of quantum mechanics found in nature and represent a fundamental change from classical information processing. While still in early stages of development, these machines will potentially offer unprecedented speed, power and complex problem-solving capabilities in areas such areas as financial services, chemistry and artificial intelligence. We will discuss these application areas and explain them further. So you will understand better where the current research on quantum computing is working on.
