Close up of CERN experiments and results

  • Needs a date

  • Needs a location

  • I am interested in the LHC experiments in CERN but understandably they try to publish as little as possible and as late as allowed.
It will be good if there is any among us with more insider view from CERN, who can share any exciting developments there.
Or alternatively we can have talks about the official CERN publications if somebody is feeling capable and willing to prepare some presentations.

I don't agree that CERN "try to publish as little as possible and as late as allowed" -- just the opposite AFAICT. Here's an example:

Jordan Nash will be giving an update on the LHC's discoveries and activities at Friends of Imperial College on Thursday 8th December 2016 @ 19:00:

    https://www.friendsofimperial.org.uk/FOIC-Index.php?pg=EventDetail&from=Our-Events&ev=224

Jordan Nash is Head of the Physics Department at Imperial College, has been involved in experiments at CERN for the last 25 years, and leads the team preparing for future upgrades needed for high intensity operation of the CMS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. He is currently collaborating on an experiment designed to look for rare interactions forbidden by the Standard Model of particle physics.

So you can't get much more of an "insider view" than that :)

I watched the most recent documentary on the Higgs boson discovery and can prepare that part.
