Our guest speaker for this event will be Sean Petterson, founder & CEO of Strongarm Technologies. Sean is a serial inventor, investor and entrepreneur. Sean studied industrial design and mechanical engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology where he received his B.S. 2013. Sean began building his first invention from his dorm room at RIT, and in 2015 he launched Strongarm Tech with only a few people on his team. Today his team consists of over 20 people working very hard on both hardware and tech products, which are catching the attention of major companies. All of his products are created and designed in house at their Brooklyn office.
I've known Sean for about 4 years now. I was introduced to Sean by a mutual friend at the futureworks incubator. Sean is a business mentor at the Futureworks incubator and a past alumni. He is one of my mentors, and has played a very big role in helping me get my product ready for production. Sean personally introduced me to the manufacturers who helped make our product 100% in the U.S. I've personally watched Sean and his team take a concept and bring it to life. In 2017 he was a featured honoree of the Forbes 30 UNDER 30 LIST. Sean will explain how he has successfully manufactured his ideas. Any obstacles he encountered, and how he overcame them as well as any avoidable mistakes he made in the beginning. His presentation will be followed by a Q&A. This is a presentation you don't want to miss if you plan on manufacturing your idea.
